“Hilar el mañana” es un proyecto editorial que surge de una reflexión personal acerca de la importancia del ambiente en el que nos criamos con respecto a cómo nos desarrollamos en el futuro. Usando un hilo como representación de los vínculos que se generan entre personas, trata de narrar las diferentes formas en las que estas conexiones pueden esquematizarse, para plantear al lector una gran pregunta final: ¿Con qué esquemas vas a hilar tú el mañana?
El proyecto está basado, principalmente, en la Teoría del Apego de John Bowlby y en
corrientes posteriores, como la Disciplina Positiva, que plantean la crianza como un aspecto esencial en el desarrollo cognitivo del individuo. Así, se abordan temas como la sensación de seguridad en el bebé, la comunicación, el respeto mutuo, el complejo de inferioridad, etc. Sin embargo, el elemento más importante de la publicación es el hilo, que recorre las páginas tomando diferentes formas y estructuras como conceptualización del apego, (el vínculo entre el bebé y su cuidador primario), y los esquemas mentales que pueden llegar a formarse a partir de éste.
Por tanto, el hilo tiene un papel ilustrativo primordial, aunque se acompaña de ilustraciones y texto que ayudan a comprender el mensaje. A este respecto, cabe recalcar que el libro es monocromático rojo, debido al trasfondo conceptual que tiene este color en relación con la sangre. Referentes importantes a la hora de tomar decisiones gráficas han sido Louise Burguois, Frida Kahlo y Paloma Corral.

“Sewing the future” is a project based on my personal thoughts about the importance of the environment in which we are raised in regard to our future development as a society. Using a thread to represent the links between people, it narrates the different ways in which these connections can get arranged in order to raise a big final question to the reader: How are you going to sew the future?
The project is primarily based on John Bowlby’s Attachment Theory, as well as on subsequent approaches like Positive Discipline, which propose upbringing children as an essential element in every individual’s cognitive development. Thus, topics such as a feeling of security in the
baby, communication, mutual respect, or the inferiority complex are mentioned. Nevertheless, the most important element in the publication is the thread, which goes through its pages taking different forms and structures as a conceptualization of the attachment, (the link between the baby and his/her primary carer), and the mental schemes that can get assembled from it.
Therefore, the thread has a primordial illustrative role, though it is accompanied by
illustrations and text that make the message easier to comprehend. It is also important to
point out that the book is monochromatic, using the colour red for its meaning regarding blood. Some of the most important artists that have helped me get to these graphic conclusions were Louise Bourgeois, Frida Kahlo and Paloma Corral.
